Victorian silver medal commemorating The Opening of the Royal Exchange, October 28 1844 by William Wyon. Obverse young bust, legend surrounding, Rev. trio of shields upon wreath with the "Gresham Grasshopper" above and legend surrounding FIRST STONE LAID BY H.R.H PRINCE ALBERT JAN 17 1842. Once cleaned to obverse, the reverse with iridescent blues and magentas. Multiple cuts to edge otherwise pleasing EF. [Eimer 1392]
