Elizabeth I (1558-1603) half groat, mm. lis, c.1559-1560. First issue, bust 1G, no rose behind. A spectacular example of the type despite the minor edge chip with the portrait of The Queen full and of exceptional quality. Rare, very much so as good as this which is comparable to the Spink plate coin were it still with full flan. A slight bend does not detract, gVF. [0.9g, N.1987, S.2552]
